In the next part, you’ll discover step by step how to turn these materials into an impressive lion design.

Step by Step Lion Face Paint
With just a few simple steps, you can create a fierce lion look on the face. Follow the guide below and discover how to use basic colors and simple lines to paint a recognizable lion quickly.
Step 1
Start with a sponge and white face paint. Paint the area under the nose and above the eyes white.

Step 2
With a sponge and yellow face paint, cover the cheeks, nose, and ears in yellow.

Step 3
Add a little brown to the tip of your yellow sponge. This creates a smooth transition between yellow and brown on the face. Use this to color the middle of the forehead and the outer edges of the cheeks in a yellow/brown blend.

Step 4
With the tip of a butterfly/petal sponge, paint the inside of the ears white.

Step 5
Use black face paint to draw a half circle on the nose and a line down to the center of the upper lip. Then, draw a black line on both sides of the nose toward the inner corners of the eyes. This line follows the natural smile crease around the mouth.

Step 6
On the white part of the muzzle, add three rows of small black dots on each side to represent whiskers.

Step 7
Draw a black line above both eyes, starting at the inner corner and moving outward over the brow bone.

Step 8
On the cheeks, use black face paint to create downward zigzag lines to give a fur effect.

Step 9
Make the same black zigzag lines on the brown section in the middle of the forehead.

Step 10
Add short black lines around the ears to outline them.
