How long does a children’s party in Lelystad last?
The duration of a party depends on the type you choose. At a unicorn party or mermaid party we also do creative activities with the children, which takes about 2 hours (up to 8 children).
If the children only want face painting or glitter tattoos, this is quicker: on average 10 children per hour for face painting, or 15 glitter tattoos per hour.
From what age do you paint children?
I paint children from the age of 3. Younger children often have sensitive skin and find it harder to sit still. For children aged 6 and up, themed parties such as a mermaid kids party or unicorn kids party are especially fun.
Is the face paint safe and skin-friendly?
Yes, I only use professional face paint that complies with European cosmetic regulations. All products are vegan and skin-friendly, so even sensitive skin can enjoy safely.
Can my child be painted if they have rashes, eczema, or chickenpox?
No, for hygienic and health reasons I do not paint children with skin conditions or contagious illnesses.
How long does face paint last?
This depends on factors such as sweating, eating, and the environment. On average, face paint lasts until it is washed off with water. Face paint is water-based and will come off in the rain or during water play.
-
Glitter tattoos last 5–7 days.
-
Festival glitter stays until you wash it off with water and soap.
Can you stay longer if more children want to be painted?
Usually yes, as long as I don’t have another booking scheduled. Extra time is charged in 30-minute increments.
How do I remove the face paint?
Start with cold water to remove as much as possible. Warm water opens the pores, which makes some pigments more difficult to remove. For stubborn colors, use a little oil (cleansing oil, baby oil, coconut oil, or sunflower oil all work well).
Can I learn how to face paint myself?
Yes! I offer several face painting workshops: from beginner lessons and parent-child workshops to training in specific designs.
Do you also paint adults or offer a glitter bar?
Absolutely! I provide adult face painting and glitter bars for weddings, festivals, corporate events, and theme parties.
The designs are adapted to the occasion, but if an adult wants to be a butterfly, that’s possible too! I also offer neon face painting, perfect for blacklight parties.
What is a bellypaint or maternity bump painting?
A bellypaint (maternity bump painting) is a creative way to celebrate and capture your pregnancy. I paint your belly with a unique design tailored to your wishes. This takes about 1 to 1.5 hours and can be done either at my home studio in Lelystad or on location.
Do you travel outside Lelystad?
Yes, I work in Lelystad and the surrounding region up to about 75 km. Please note that if I have to travel 2 hours, I require a minimum booking of 2 hours. This is always discussed in advance.
How many children can you paint in 2 hours?
-
At small parties I paint about 8–10 children per hour (16–20 in 2 hours).
-
At larger events I simplify designs so I can paint up to 20 children per hour.
-
For very large groups, a second painter can be arranged.
Can we choose a theme for the party?
Yes! Popular themes include a mermaid kids party, unicorn kids party, glitter party, or superheroes. I tailor the face painting and glitter to your wishes.
How much does a children’s party or bellypaint cost?
The price depends on the length and number of guests. You can find the current prices on the rates page. Not sure or do you have a special request? Feel free to contact me.
How can I pay?
After we discuss your wishes, I’ll send you a quote. Once accepted, you’ll receive an invoice with a secure payment link.
How far in advance should I book?
I recommend booking as soon as you know your date. Summer is usually busier than winter, so the earlier you book, the more chance the date is still available.
Are you insured?
Yes, I am covered with business liability insurance.
